1. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)


It is a subsidiary of the Indian multinational conglomerate Tata Group, TCS is a multinational IT services company providing business and consulting solutions to its clients. The company was established in 1968 and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is not only a top Indian firm but also Asia's largest IT services firm. TCS has its foothold in around 46 countries across the globe. TCS provides assurance services, BI and performance management services, business process services, consulting services, digital enterprise services, eco-sustainability services to name a few. In January 2015, TCS overtook Reliance Industries Ltd. as the top firm in India. TCS’ market capitalisation amounted to Rs. 5,09,837.31 crore in May 2015.



2. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)



Reliance Industries Ltd. is an Indian multinational conglomerate operating in various sectors in and outside India. Founded in 1966, RIL is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. RIL deals in miscellaneous industries such as construction, energy, petrochemicals, communications, science and technology, healthcare, textiles, retails, natural resources and logistics. The principal shareholders, the Ambani family, hold close to 45.34 percent shares in the company, while the rest of the shares are held by approximately three million shareholders. In May 2015, the market capitalisation of RIL amounted to Rs. 2,85,051.72 crore.



3. HDFC Bank


An Indian financial and banking services company, HDFC was founded in 1994 and has its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. HDFC is India's largest private sector bank. The bank provides the best of facilities to its customers such as simplified banking and financial solutions through various types of saving, corporate, family accounts, attractive and beneficial range of insurance policies and easy loans for all sections of the society. It offers special financial services to the agriculture sector as well. HDFC Bank's market capitalization amounted to Rs. 2,58,157.69 crore in May 2015.



4. Sun Pharma


Sun Pharma, officially Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited, is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical enterprise. It was established in 1983 and is currently headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It operates mainly in India and the United States, where it produces and sells a diverse range of pharmaceutical products that help in psychiatry, neurology, cardiology, diabetology and gastroenterology. It provides a whole range of medicines and drugs beneficial in all kinds of illnesses and ailments. Sun Pharma is the largest pharmaceutical company in India. Its market capitalisation amounted to Rs. 2,29,765.30 in May 2015.



5. Infosys


Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka and established in 1981, Infosys is an Indian multinational IT company having its prime business in software engineering, information technology, business consulting and outsourcing. After TCS, Infosys is the second largest IT company in India in terms of market value. Infosys benefits its clients in over 50 countries. In May 2015, the market capitalisation of Infosys was valued at Rs. 2,31,600.93 crore.



6. Hindustan Unilever


Hindustan Unilever is India's largest company solely dedicated to the FMCG segment. It was founded in 1932 and has its head office in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Holding 67.25 percent stake in the company, the Anglo-Dutch company Unilever owns this Indian multinational firm. Hindustan Unilever manufactures products in 20 different categories spanning over 35 brands comprising shampoos, soaps, skin care products, detergents, deodorants, cosmetics, toothpastes, coffee, tea, packaged food items and the likes. The market capitalisation of Hindustan Unilever amounted to Rs. 1,83,101.45 in May 2015.



7. IBM


International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is an American multinational information technology company headquartered in Armonk, New York, with operations in over 170 countries. The company began in 1911, founded in Endicott, New York, as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) and was renamed "International Business Machines" in 1924.


IBM produces and sells computer hardware, middleware and software, and provides hosting and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology. IBM is also a major research organization, holding the record for most U.S. patents generated by a business (as of 2019) for 26 consecutive years.[5] Inventions by IBM include the automated teller machine (ATM), the floppy disk, the hard disk drive, the magnetic stripe card, the relational database, the SQL programming language, the UPC barcode, and dynamic random-access memory (DRAM). The IBM mainframe, exemplified by the System/360, was the dominant computing platform during the 1960s and 1970s.



8. NESTLE


Next is the Nestle on the list. Nestle India is again a part of Nestle S.A which is a food and beverage company from Switzerland. Nestle had made its entry into the market in 1912 with improved products and is currently one of lead MNCs in India. It is considered as one of the largest food company in India with their best food products. And also comes with the rank 72 on the Fortune Global 500 in 2014 according to the revenue.
Nestle corporate office is in Vevey, Switzerland with the turnover – 86 Billion Dollar. These products are famous across the country in the form of Maggi, KitKat, Nescafe, Bar one and many others.

9. PROCTER & GAMBLE

Procter & Gamble (popularly known as P&G) is a worldwide developer MNC and was started by William Procter and James Gamble in 1837. P& G Indian is a part of Procter and Gamble. The MNC made its ways into India in 1964 and currently has products such aa Olay, Gillette, Vicks, Tide etc. It has a wide range of products in the segment of beauty and grooming, health and household care.
P&G has its corporate office in Cincinnati, Ohio, the USA with the turnover – 84 Billion Dollar. P&G has more than 10 manufacturing plants in India and has to its credits more than 600 million consumers. 

10. SONY CORPORATION

Sony is yet another well-known Japanese multinational company which came into existence in the year 1946. Sony Corporation began its operations in the Indian market in the year 1994 and is well acclaimed for its products in various categories: electronic, media and entertainment.
Televisions, mobile phones, cameras, PlayStations, headphones, memory card, etc are the major products of the Sony Corporation. In India, its headquarter is in Delhi with the total revenue of US$ 153.683 billion.
