MANALI- A paradise
Manali is a beautiful place in Himachal Pradesh India. It is one the most laid back towns you'll ever find in the world. It like Goa but in mountains. Manali is situated in Kullu district about 300 km north-east of Chandigarh, it is located in the picturesque Beas River Valley. Manali is a small town located on the ancient trade route to Ladakh. It is a very popular travel destination, travelers from around the world come to visit Manali every year.
The word "Manali" is derived from the ancient Hindu-Sanathan lawgiver MANU, it literally means "The abode of Manu". According to the ancient texts in India sage Manu stepped off his ark to recreate human life after a great flood that had engulfed the world. Local people refer this valley as " The valley of Gods". The old Manali village has a temple dedicated to sage Manu.

Once a small quiet village has rapidly transformed into a bustling town with travelers coming from all over the world. It has numerous homestays, hostels and designer hotels and there are a variety of cafes and restaurants to cater the needs of the travelers.
The climate in Manali is predominantly cold during winter and moderately cool during summer. The temperatures range from -15 degree Celsius to 26 degree Celsius during the year.

The Hidimba Devi Temple
Popularly known as the Dhungiri temple, Hadimba temple one of the central attractions of Manali. The temple is located amidst exquisite beauties of cedar forest.Built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh, Hadimba temple is a four storied wooden structure with a tower peaking up to 24 metres high. The three tiers of its square roofs are covered with timber tiles and the conical apex is embellished with a metal cladding. The mud walls are covered with stone work. The wooden doorway is ornamented with very elaborate carvings that depict goddesses, animals, foliate designs, dancers, scenes from Lord Krishna’s life and Navagrahas.

Manu Temple
This magnificent temple is dedicated to the sage Manu, who is said to be the creator of the world and the writer of Manusmriti. The Manu Temple is located in old Manali, at a distance of three kilometers from the main market. Though this area is quite congested, the presence of the River Beas adds to its attraction. The temple is one of the prime attractions in Manali and is believed to be the same place where sage Manu meditated after stepping on earth. This place has a distinct historical background that appeals to most of the people who visit Manali. The popularity of this majestic temple lies in the fact that it is the only temple dedicated to Manu; so whoever visits Manali makes it a point to visit this temple. The travelers are advised to wear dresses covering the knees and shoulders, while inside the temple.

Manali Sanctuary
The Manali Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The sanctuary starts about 2 km from Manali. It is the catchment of Manalsu khad. A path from Manali log huts and Dhungri/Hidimba temple passes through dense Deodar/Cedar, Kail, Horse chestnut, Walnut and Maple forests.
Solang Valley
Solang Valley is about 14 km to the north-west from Manali, on Leh-Ladhakh highway, and it is well known for paragliding, zorbing, parachuting, skating. Giant slopes of lawn comprise Solang Valley and provide its reputation as a popular ski resort. A few ski agencies offering courses and equipment reside here and operate only during winters.

There are many more places that you can visit and be awestruck, this place feels like tinsel town like in fairy tales. The local people here are welcoming and very laid back, the hospitality is great.
There is friend of mine Docsy who runs a hostel YOLO (You Only Live Once) in old Manali, I had a great experience staying there. You can get bikes on rent easily if you want to travel around Manali.
However, I request all of you that travel to these kind of mesmerizing places that please keep the environment clean, do not litter and throw the garbage in the dustbin only.
